26 October 2020 Master Chief Morris is a native of Fulshear, Texas and attended Lamar C.I.S.D. High School.  After enlisting in the United States Navy on December 15, 1992 he attended basic recruit training in San Diego, California.  Following recruit training, he attended Apprenticeship Training and Fleet Training in San Diego, California.

In June of 1993 he reported to his first duty station aboard USS Belleau Wood (LHA-3) in Sasebo, Japan where he advanced to the rank of Petty Officer Third Class as an Operation Specialist and completed a deployment to Somalia in support of UNITED SHIELD.

In June 1995, he transferred to USS Mobile Bay (CG-53) in Yokosuka, Japan attending Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) "C" school in route graduating top of his class.  He advanced to the rank of Petty Officer Second Class and completed two Arabian Gulf deployments in support of Operation DESERT SHIELD.

In February 1999, he reported to USS Cushing (DD-985) also in Yokosuka, Japan where he served as an ASTAC and Leading Petty Officer.  He advanced to the rank of Petty Officer First Class and completed deployments in support of Operations DESERT SHIELD, ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.

In September 2002, he transferred to Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and served as the Fleet Command Center division officer and was also selected for Chief Petty Officer.

In August 2005, he transferred to USS Harpers Ferry (LSD-49) in Sasebo, Japan where he served as a Departmental Leading Chief Petty Officer, Senior Enlisted Combat Systems and was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer.

In 2008 he was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program and for commissioning as a Limited Duty Operations Officer.  Turning down his commission, he transferred to USS Guardian (MCM-5) in Sasebo, Japan where he served as Command Senior Chief and was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer.

In October 2010, he transferred to Mine Countermeasures Squadron Seven also in Sasebo, Japan and served as the Squadron Command Master Chief for the USS Avenger, USS Defender, USS Guardian, USS Patriot, and HM-14.

In April 2011 he transferred to Navy Information Operations Command, Misawa, Japan where he served as the NIOC Misawa Command Master Chief and Misawa Security Operations Center Joint Senior Enlisted Leader for 500 Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and DOD civilians.

Master Chief Morris’ additional CMC tour include USS STETHEM (DDG-63) April 2015 – August 2017, Naval Air Facility Misawa, Japan August 2017 – May 2020 and VFA-195 “DAMBUSTERS” May 2020 – Present.

Master Chief Morris is a graduate of U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy class 139 and Command Leadership School COB/CMC class 52.  He is qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS), Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist (EIWS) and Enlisted Air Warfare Specialist (EAWS).  His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards) and various campaign, service awards.
