26 October 2020 Command Master Chief Adolfo Gonzalez reported to Basic Training on 25 June 2001 at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois with follow on orders to Hospital Corpsman “A” School. Upon graduating as Class Valedictorian he was able to select orders to 1st Marine Division Detachment, 29 Palms California following Field Medical Service School in Camp Johnson, North Carolina.

While attached to 1st Marine Division he served as Senior Line Company Corpsman for Kilo Company 3d Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 21 January 2003 to 05 October 2003 where he was selected to be a Platoon Sergeant during combat operations.  He was selected as the Regimental Commander’s Jump Team Corpsman and deployed in support of OIF II from 14 February 2004 to 19 November 2004 with Regimental Combat Team 7.

In March 2005 he reported to Naval Hospital Twenty-Nine Palms and worked in the Education and Training,  Human Resources, and Assistant Plans, Operations, and Medical Intelligence Officer.

In November 2008, he reported to Fleet Surgical Team Seven, Okinawa Japan.  He was assigned as the Intensive Care Corpsman and Leading Petty Officer. He deployed in support of  PHIBLEX, Balikatan, Cobra Gold, Talisman Saber, and disaster relief efforts for the Philippines. 

In January 2011 he reported to Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton serving as the Internal Medicine Department’s Leading Petty Officer and then Leading Chief Petty Officer until January 2014.

He reported back to 1st Marine Division in February 2015 as the Leading Chief Petty Officer, 2d Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment.  He deployed with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit from July 2014 to February 2015 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.  Upon his return, he was assigned as Leading Chief Petty Officer, Education and Training Office, and Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare program manager.  He was later assigned as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 11th Marine Regiment in January 2016.

Master Chief Gonzalez reported to Naval Health Clinic Quantico in March 2017 and was assigned as Senior Enlisted Leader for Administration.  He was selected into the Command Senior Chief Program in February 2018 and served as the Interim Command Master Chief from March 2018 until September 2018.

From February 2019 until September 2021 he served as the Command Senior Chief for NROTC Unit, Texas A&M University and also served as an associate professor of Naval Science.

In November 2021 he checked in to Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron ONE ONE THREE (VAW-113) and assumed the duties as Command Master Chief.

Command Master Chief Gonzalez is qualified Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist – Ground Combat Element, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist. He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Command Master Chief / Chief of the Boat Course, United States Marine Corps First Sergeant / Master Sergeant Seminar, and Recruit Division Commander “C” School. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), Combat Action Ribbon, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (two awards) and numerous campaign, unit, and service awards. He is married to Abby Gonzalez and they have three children, Ethan, David and Isabel.
