Commander Grant “G-Regs” Regelin

CDR Regelin hails from Columbia, MD.  He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.  In July 2008, he was designated a Naval Aviator.
 
In May 2009, CDR Regelin joined the Golden Eagles of Patrol Squadron NINE (VP-9) based in Kaneohe Bay, HI.  While assigned to the “Golden Eagles”, CDR Regelin served as Pilot Training Officer and Primary NATOPS Instructor, completing deployments to the FIFTH, SIXTH, and SEVENTH Fleet areas of responsibility.
 
In December 2012, CDR Regelin reported to Patrol Squadron THIRTY (VP-30) in Jacksonville, FL for duty as an Instructor Pilot.  CDR Regelin completed the Weapons Tactics Instructor course in the Fall of 2013 and was hand-selected to stand-up the Maritime Patrol Reconnaissance Weapons School (MPRWS).  In 2015, CDR Regelin completed a Master of Science in Operations Management degree from University of Arkansas.
 
In October 2015, CDR Regelin reported back to VP-9 to serve as their Squadron Maritime Tactics Instructor (SMTI).  During his SMTI tour, CDR Regelin served as Training Officer, Tactics Officer, CTG 72.4 LNO and detachment OIC in Andoya, Clark AB, and Misawa AFB.  While attached, he completed two deployments supporting operations in FOURTH, SIXTH, and SEVENTH Fleet.
 
In October 2017, CDR Regelin reported to Patrol Squadron FORTY-SIX (VP-46) for his Aviation Department Head (DH) tour.  He completed VP-46’s final deployment in the mighty P-3C Orion to FIFTH and SEVENTH Fleet supporting Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.  Upon return, he transitioned to the P-8 Poseidon.  During his DH tour he served as the Homeland Defense OIC, CTG 72.8 OIC, Tactics Officer, Safety/NATOPS Officer, CTG 57.2 OPS, Training Officer, P-8A Transition Lead, Operations Officer, and Maintenance Officer. 
 
In June 2020, he reported to the College of Naval Command and Staff at the US Naval War College in Newport, RI.  In June 2021, CDR Regelin was awarded a Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies and JPME Phase 1 certification.
 
CDR Regelin joined the “Kraken” of Tactical Operations Control Squadron TEN (TOCRON-10) as the Executive Officer in June 2022.
 
CDR Regelin’s personal awards include a Strike/Flight Air Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medals (3 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals (2 awards), and various unit and campaign decorations.  He and his wife, Tiffany, are the proud parents of two daughters and one son.
