Command Master Chief Kevin A. Boone

Command Master Chief, Helicopter Sea Combat Wing, U.S. Pacific Fleet

26 October 2020 Master Chief Boone is a native of Vineland, New Jersey. He graduated from Vineland High School and enlisted in the United States Navy on 27 December 1989. He completed Recruit Training in Great Lakes, IL, followed by Naval Aircrew School in Pensacola, FL and then Aviation Machinist Mate “A” school in Millington, TN. He graduated from HM-12 Fleet Replacement Aircrew “C” School in December 1990.

His first assignment was Helicopter Squadron FOUR Sigonella, Sicily where he participated in DESERT SHIELD/STORM and Operation PROVIDE COMFORT along with several detachments throughout the Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf. His follow on assignment was NAS Oceana AIMD Virginia Beach, Virginia where he promoted to Second Class Petty Officer. In 1998, he reported to Helicopter Mine Countermeasure Squadron FOURTEEN where he made two deployments to the Arabian Gulf ISO Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. He promoted to First Class and Chief Petty Officer during this tour.

Other tours of duty include Airborne Mine Countermeasures Weapon System Training School as a “C” school instructor where he earned his Master Training Specialist. Upon completion of that tour, he returned to Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron FOURTEEN where he deployed onboard the USS Comstock (LSD-45) in 2008 and then deployed to Pohang, South Korea in 2010. He earned the honors and was named 2010 Naval Helicopter Association Maintenance Chief of the Year. He was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2011 and then transferred to Naval Mine and Antisubmarine Warfare Command in San Diego, CA. As the Training Department Leading Chief Petty Officer, he was the team lead for numerous Mine Warfare training exercise certification in Third, Fifth, and Seventh Fleet. After being promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer, he was selected to the Command Master Chief program in February of 2016 and detailed to assume the duties as Command Master Chief of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Six.

Master Chief Boone holds an Associate’s Degree in Human Resource Management and completed Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 143, Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Capstone Course Class 150. Additionally, he completed his Primary PME and Senior NCO Joint PME. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
