Command Senior Chief, Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ) 7

29 October 2020 Senior Chief Brown is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma and enlisted in the United States Navy in July 1998. After completing boot camp at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, he attended Aviation Structural Mechanic (Structures) “A” School in Pensacola, FL.

After completion of “A” School, he reported to Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD Air Test and Evaluation Squadron TWO THREE (VX-23).  Following his initial tour there, he reported to Kaneohe, HI Patrol Squadron FOUR (VP-4) where he completed two deployments to Diego Garcia and Misawa Japan.  From there he transferred to Great Lakes where he served as a Recruit Division Commander.  After a challenging RDC tour, he completed Naval Aircrew Candidate School and then reported to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron SEVEN (VQ-7) for initial fleet training as an E-6B Flight Engineer (FE).  Upon completion of his initial FE training, he reported to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron FOUR (VQ-4) where he qualified as an E-6B FE, NATOPS Instructor, and Safe-for-flight.  He then transferred back to Patuxent River, MD Air Test and Evaluation Squadron TWO ZERO (VX-20) where he served as the E-6B NATOPS Lead, Command Career Counselor, and Special Projects LCPO.  He then returned back to Tinker AFB where he completed another tour at VQ-4. 

Senior Chief Brown has accumulated over 4,300 hours in the Mighty Mercury and currently serves as the VQ-7 Roughneck’s Command Senior Enlisted Leader.

Senior Chief Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Security Management from Southwestern College.  He is qualified as a Naval Aircrew Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, and Master Training Specialist. His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and multiple unit and campaign awards.
