Command Master Chief Brian Happli

Master Chief Happli was born and raised in Wausau, WI. He enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1996. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL he reported to the United States Ceremonial Guard, where he performed duties as a Casket Bearer at Arlington National Cemetery.Upon completion of this two year tour he returned to Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, IL and completed Firecontrolman "A" school. He then transferred to AEGIS Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren, VA and graduated from AN/SPY-1D School, reporting to USS Carney (DDG 64) in Mayport, FL. He earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist qualification, completed one Mediterranean Sea and on Arabian Gulf deployment, and advanced to Firecontrolman First Class.In 2003 Master Chief Happli commissioned the USS Mustin (DDG 89) and homeport shifted it to San Diego, CA and in 2004 he was selected to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. His other fleet assignments include USS Higgins (DDG 76), San Diego, CA and USS Hopper (DDG 70), Pearl Harbor, HI. In addition, he has completed one shore tour as the Senior Recruit Division Commander at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL.Master Chief Happli entered the Command Master Chief program in November 2014. He has served as the Command Master Chief of VFA-146 "Blue Diamonds" F/A-18E squadron in Lemoore, CA, Commander, Carrier Air Wing 11 "Team Barbwire" in Lemoore, CA, and USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) in San Diego, CA.Master Chief Happli holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. He is also a graduate of the Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (Class 10-C) and the Navy Leadership and Ethic Center's Command Master Chief Program (Class 137).Master Chief Happli's decorations include Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and various unit and campaign awards.Master Chief Happli is currently serving as the Command Master Chief of Commander, Carrier Strike Group THREE (CSG 3) in Bremerton, WA.
