Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Squadron (VRM) 30

Staff Ombudsman

Dear Family and Friends of VRM-30,

Welcome to the Titan family!

We are your Command Ombudsmen, Kelsey Green and Cherilyn Walters.

Ombudsmen are volunteers appointed by the Commanding Officer to serve as the primary link between command families and command leadership. As your Ombudsman, we support the command mission by serving as a trained resource for information, referrals, and as a vital source of communication for family members, whether our Sailors are at home or on deployment.

As your Ombudsmen, we will:

  • Serve as a reliable source of information and have direct access to the command.
  • Pass information to and from the command leadership.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and bring emergency issues to the attention of the command.
  • Assist in crisis and disaster response as directed by the Commanding Officer.
  • Refer families in need of resources to military and command agencies, such as American Red Cross, Fleet and Family Support Center, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, and many others.
  • Participate in monthly training and assemblies to stay up to date on all the new information and resources to best support the command families.

As Ombudsmen, we are proud to serve VRM-30 and its families. We are committed to serving you with the highest standards of professionalism, patience, reliability, and confidentiality. We are here to provide you with the tools and information that will help you be successful in your important role as part of the Navy family!

Please call, text or email us if we can be of any assistance to you.

Your questions, comments and concerns will all be held in strictest confidence, within the guidelines defined in OPNAVIST 1750.1G-CH 2 the Navy Family Ombudsman Instruction. These guidelines stipulate that mandatory reporting is required for all suspected child abuse and neglect, all alleged domestic abuse, all suspected homicide, violence or life endangering situations, all suspected or potential suicide risks, and all alleged sexual assaults. We are available 24 hours a day for emergencies. We will return all routine calls within 24 hours, and if we do not answer, please leave us a voicemail including your name and phone number. We can also be reached by email. We send out quarterly emails regarding upcoming events and opportunities for military families in the San Diego area. If you would like to be added to this distribution list, please let us know. We look forward to working with you and your families.

Very Respectfully,
Kelsey Green and Cherilyn Walters
