He enlisted in the United States Navy in July 2007 and completed Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. Following recruit training, he attended Naval Aircrew Candidate School, Rescue Swimmer School, and Aviation Warfare Specialist “A” School at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. His training continued at Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Three (HSC-3), NAS North Island, California, for fleet replacement training in the MH-60S helicopter. Upon completion of the training pipeline, Senior Chief Conant reported to “Dragon Whales” of HSC-28, Naval Air Station Norfolk, Virginia. He completed deployments on USS Nassau (LHA 4) and HSC-28 DET 1 out of Naples, Italy, in support of OERATION UNIFIED RESPONSE, 5th Fleet contingency operations, 6th Fleet VIP support, and SOCEUR training support. In May of 2012, he reported to the “SAR Dogs” Search and Rescue detachment out of Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland. He flew Search and Rescue and logistics missions in support of research, development, test, and evaluation flight operations and the Chesapeake Bay region. He then reported to the “World Famous Golden Falcons” of HSC-12, Naval Air Facility, Atsugi, Japan, in July of 2015. He completed three deployments on USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) in support of 7th fleet, VIP transport, and POTUS operations. In January 2019, he returned to HSC-3 as a Fleet Replacement Aircrew Instructor. He served as NATOPS Evaluator, Operations Department LCPO, and Student Control LCPO. In July 2022 he reported to HSC-6 as Operations Department LCPO, deploying on USS Nimitz (CVN 68) in support of 7th fleet operations. In February 2024, he assumed the duties as Senior Enlisted Leader.
