Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 8 “Eightballers”

Mission

Provides all-weather rotary wing operations, vertical lift search and rescue, logistics, anti-surface warfare, special operations forces support, organic airborne mine countermeasures, and combat search and rescue capabilities to the carrier air wing.

About Us

Our squadron reports operationally to Commander, Carrier Air Wing  (CVW) 11 and administratively to Commander, Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Pacific.

We fly the MH-60S Seahawk helicopter, a singularly versatile, dependable, and invaluable asset to the United States Navy. Our mission areas are Maritime and Overland Strike, Search and Rescue, Personnel Recovery, Naval Special Warfare, Anti-Surface Warfare and Logistics. As part of CVW-11, we deploy aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) as well as provide assistance to other units as needed.
