CDR Andrew Jaeger was commissioned in May 2006 through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at Marquette University, graduating with a bachelor of science in marketing. After winging as a naval aviator in March 2009, he reported to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 122 at Naval Air Station (NAS) Lemoore for training in the FA-18E/F Super Hornet.
CDR Jaeger’s first assignment was with the Fighting Redcocks of VFA-22 in January 2010. During this tour, CDR Jaeger made two WESTPAC deployments as part of Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17 aboard the USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70) in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and NEW DAWN.
In September 2012, CDR Jaeger attended the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) in Fallon, NV with follow on orders to Strike Fighter Weapons School Pacific (SFWSP) at NAS Lemoore. While on staff with SFWSP, he served as the subject matter expert for the APG-65/73/79 and as the annex department head.
In February 2014, CDR Jaeger reported to the World Famous Golden Dragons of VFA-192 for duty as the training officer.  During this tour, he deployed with CVW-2 aboard the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN-73) during the Southern Seas deployment. During this deployment, he served as a Liaison Officer (LNO), supporting integrated training operations with the Brazilian Air Force.
In December 2016, CDR Jaeger reported to the Warhawks of VFA-97 for duty as a department head. While assigned to VFA-97, CDR Jaeger completed a deployment with CVW-9 onboard the USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN-74) supporting Operations FREEDOM’S SENTINEL and INHERENT RESOLVE. During his tenure he served as the safety officer, administrative officer, operations officer and maintenance officer.
In December 2020, CDR Jaeger reported to the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) in Fallon NV, serving the Air Wing Training Officer. While on Staff at NAWDC, he oversaw integrated training with the USAF Weapons School and Air Wing Fallon Detachments for CVWs 2, 1, 9 and 7.
CDR Jaeger reported to the Mighty Shrikes of VFA-94 in April 2023 and currently serves as the Executive Officer.
CDR Jaeger has accumulated over 2,800 flight hours in the FA-18E/F and F-16, 500 arrested landings and 50 combat missions. Personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal; Air Medal – Strike/Flight (2 awards); Navy Commendation Medal (3 awards); Navy Achievement Medal; and various unit, campaign and service medals.
