22 October 2020 Master Chief Cristopher Silva reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, in July 1998.  He became a Hospital Corpsman in January 1999 and completed Field Medical Service School in Camp Pendleton, California in April 1999.  He was selected for the Command Master Chief Program in 2020.
 
He has served in a myriad of sea duty assignments, including 1st Battalion, 4th Marines; 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines; 2nd Medical Battalion; Combat Logistics Regiment 27; 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit; and Strike Fighter Squadron TWO TWO.
 
His shore tours include service as the Chief Master-at-Arms and Leading Petty Officer for Nursing Services at U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan; Recruit Division Commander at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois; Senior Enlisted Leader at Naval Branch Health Clinic Portsmouth, New Hampshire; and most recently as the Command Master Chief for Field Medical Training Battalion – East, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
 
He completed three Marine Expeditionary Unit deployments to the Western Pacific, Mediterranean, Horn of Africa, and Central Command, a combat deployment to Marjah, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and a historic 11 month combat deployment on the USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) in support of Operations Freedom’s Sentinel, Inherent Resolve, and Octave Quartz.  He also served on numerous humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in East Timor, Haiti, and Puerto Rico.
 
Master Chief Silva is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and the Command Master Chief / Chief of the Boat Course; and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the University of Phoenix.  He has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), and various other personal and unit awards.
 
He assumed the duties as the Command Master Chief of Carrier Air Wing ELEVEN on October 28, 2022.
