Command Master Chief, Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 140

25 October 2020 Master Chief Roll, a native of Orlando, Florida, enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1996.
 
Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he reported to the Aircrew Survival Equipmentman ‘A’ School in Millington, Tennessee.
 
Upon graduation he reported to Patrol Squadron (VP) 4, located at Naval Air Station (NAS) Barbers Point, Hawaii.  After his first reenlistment, he transferred to SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team (SDVT) 1 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, where he was assigned as a Special Operations Parachute Rigger and Naval Parachutist and later qualified as a Military Freefall Parachutist and Military Static Line and Free Fall Jumpmaster.
 
His other fleet assignments include Naval Special Warfare Logistics and Support Unit (LOGSUPPU) 2 at Naval Amphibious Base (NAB) Little Creek, Virginia, USS THEODORE ROOSELVELT (CVN 71) and USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia.
 
In addition, Master Chief Roll completed shore assignments at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) - Naval Test Parachute Program, Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, California; Explosive Ordnance Disposal Training and Evaluation Unit TWO at Fort Story, Virginia; and Naval Safety Center, Norfolk, Virginia.
 
Master Chief Roll holds an Associates of Arts Degree from Honolulu Community College and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Wayland Baptist University with majors in Fire and Environmental Emergency Response, and is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 174, Brown) and earned his Enlisted Aviation, Surface, and Expeditionary Warfare Specialist and Master Training Specialist designations.
 
Master Chief Roll was selected for the Command Senior Chief program in February 2016 and completed the CMC/COB Course at the Command Leadership School, Newport, Rhode Island, in June 2016.
 
He reported to his first command assignment at Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Crew 213, Naval Base San Diego, California in June 2016 and is a Plankowner of USS OMAHA (LCS 12). He was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer in May 2018.  In March 2019, he reported to VAQ-140 and deployed on USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72).
 
Master Chief Roll’s decorations include the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), Air Force Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
