25 October 2020 Senior Chief Berumen joined the Navy out Gilbert, Arizona.  He graduated from Sun Valley High School in 1998.  He enlisted in the United States Navy and completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois in November 1998.
Following basic training, Senior Chief Berumen reported to Aviation Training Department (ATD), Great Lakes for Airman Apprenticeship Training School (AATS) then on to Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida for Aviation Structural Mechanic “A” school.  Proceeding to Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Command (NATTC) Cecil Field, Florida to complete Advanced Composite Repair School.  After completion of school, he reported to Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) Sigonella, Sicily in June1999.  While assigned, he was part of the Kosovo Air Campaign, gaining the rank of Petty Officer Second Class.  He completed his tenure with AIMD Sigonella in July 2002.
In July 2002, he reported to NATTC Pensacola, Florida for Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) School. Upon completion of NDI schoo in November 2022 served four years with Helicopter Combat Support Squadron FIVE (HC-5) in Agana, Guam.  He was part of the squadron’s transition from H-46 helicopters to H-60S and the re-designation of the squadron to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWO FIVE (HSC-25).  While at HSC-25 he advanced to Petty Officer First Class and was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Unified Assistance providing humanitarian relief after the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami that devastated South East Asia.   
After leaving HSC-25 in March 2007, his next assignment began April 2007 at Chief, Bureau of Naval Personnel (BUPERS) where he served as the E-1 to E-5 and NDI Detailer for three years.  Upon detaching from BUPERS in June 2010, he reported to Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) Lemoore, CA for F/A-18E/F airframes and related systems initial and career training. 
Upon completion of F/A-18E/F initial and career training, his next assignment was with the Royal Maces of Strike Fighter Squadron TWO SEVEN (VFA-27) began in September 2010.  While with the Maces he advanced to Chief Petty Officer and participated in five patrols in the South China Sea and Operation Tomadachi.  His tenure with VFA-27 ended in August 2015 and he then reported to Electronic Attack Squadron ONE FOUR ONE the Shadowhawks within CAG-5 and completed three additional South China Sea Patrols and the movement of the squadron from Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Japan to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. 
He detached from VAQ-141 in August of 2018 and reported to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE TWO TWO (VFA-122) where he was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer.  His tour with VFA-122 ended in March 2021 and he reported to his current assignment with the Vigilantes of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE FIVE ONE (VFA-151). 
His personal awards include the the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy, the Marine Corp Achievement Medal (five awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
