Command Master Chief Michael L. Flanders
Command Master Chief, Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 14

Command Master Chief Flanders was born in Coffeyville, Kansas and entered the Navy in May 1998.
Master Chief’s sea duty assignments include VS-22 Checkmates, Jacksonville, FL; VFA-27 Royal Maces, Atsugi, Japan; VFA-213 Black Lions, Oceana, Virginia and the USS ESSEX (LHD 2), San Diego, California.
Master Chief’s shore duty assignments include Navy Recruiting District (NRD), Kansas City; Navy Munitions Command, Fallon, Nevada; Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tennessee and Denver Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).
In June 2022, he reported to VFA-14 where he currently serves as the Command Master Chief.
Master Chief Flanders holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Charleston, West Virginia.
His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various unit and personal awards.
