Command Master Chief Virginia L. Horton

A native of Vacaville, Ca. CMDCM Horton enlisted in the United States Navy in September of 1999 as an Aviation Boatswain Mate then crossed rate to Master At Arms in 2002.  She graduated from the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course in 2018 and was selected for the Command Master/Senior Chief program.  
 
At sea, she served as Harbor Patrol, Field Training Officer, Water Survival Instructor, and Lead Instructor Coxswain Academy for NAS Bahrain 2005, Training Leading Petty Officer and TACSUP for the Iraq Oil Platforms and deployed to the Oil Platforms in the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom for Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Six and Four in Norflok Va 2007, LCPO of Alpha Company 2nd Platoon at Marine Corps Security Force Battalion in Bangor Wa 2009, SEL for Security Detachment and N7 Department Head for Coastal Riverine Squadron ONE DET Guam in Guam 2016, and the Command Senior Chief for LCS Crew 217, USS KANSAS CITY  commissioning and USS TULSA deployment to 7Th and 3rd FLEET AORs 2018. 

Her shore tours include service as Aircraft Firefight Instructor for NAS Lemoore in Lemoore Ca 2002, Patrolman, Command Investigator, and Field Training Officer for  32nd Street Security Department in San Diego Ca 2004, Security Department head, Senior Enlisted Leader for the DFA, and the Anti-Terrorism Officer, for Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton in Camp Pendleton, Ca 2013.
 
Her current assignment is Command Master Chief of Strike Fighter Squadron One Zero Two, Iwkuni, Japan.
 
CMDCM Horton has been awarded the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.  Other recognitions include the The Allen G. Odgen award and the Daily Points of Light Award, VCNO Sailor of the year, the Master Chief Anna Der-Vartanian Leadership Award, Navy Small Craft Insignia., and Nuclear Weapons Specialist Insignia.
