Command Master Chief Manuel Valle

Command Master Chief Valle is a native of Chicago, Illinois.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on 2 July 2003 and attended Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois.  After successful completion of Hospital Corpsman “A” School and Field Medical Service School, he reported to Commanding General’s First Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA.
 
His sea duty assignments include 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance, 1st Battalion 5th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit onboard USS Tarawa (LHA 1), and 11th Marine Regiment in First Marine Division Camp Pendleton, CA, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He was assigned as the Senior Medical Department Representative, Independent Duty Corpsman, and Officer of the Deck Underway onboard USS Thunderbolt (PC 12), USS Firebolt (PC 10), and USS Hurricane (PC 3) with PC Crew KILO, Little Creek, VA, and Manama, Bahrain in support of Operation New Dawn.
 
Command Senior Enlisted Leader and Medical Immediate Superior in Command for Commander, Task Force SEVENTY ONE/ Commander, Destroyer Squadron FIFTEEN and Medical Senior Enlisted Leader for Commander Naval Surface Group Western Pacific. Other duty assignments include Senior Enlisted Advisor for Branch Health Clinic USS Tranquility, Recruit Training Command, IL. Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Department Leading Chief Petty Officer, and Fleet Support Operations-Lead Inspector for Afloat Training Group Western Pacific, Yokosuka, Japan.  Master Chief Valle is currently serving as the Command Master Chief onboard USNS MERCY (T-AH 19).
 
Command Master Chief Valle has earned his Surface Warfare, Fleet Marine Force, and Afloat Training Specialist qualifications.  His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), Military Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal (two awards), Combat Action, and various unit and campaign awards.  Master Chief Valle earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Master’s in Psychology, and is a Doctoral candidate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at North Central University.  He is a graduate of the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (21030), Senior Enlisted Academy (Class Gray-212), Executive Medical Department Enlisted Course, and Surface Force Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman School. In addition, he has been the recipient of Bureau of Medicine and Surgery’s Surface Independent Duty Corpsman of the Year.
