Command Master Chief, Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 129

26 October 2020 Master Chief Liam is a native of San Fernando Pampanga, Philippines.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April 1995 and attended recruit training at Regional Training Center, Chicago, Illinois.  After graduating from Basic Training, he reported aboard the USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) in San Diego, CA as a non-designated Airman and was rated as an Aviation Support Equipment Technician.  He completed multiple Western Pacific deployments to include “Operation Southern Watch” and the ship’s homeport change in Yokosuka, Japan. 

In 2000, he reported to Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) Barking Sands, Kauai Hawaii and then took following orders to AIMD Sigonella, Sicily in Italy “The Hub of The Med” providing maintenance support to transient aircrafts in support Operations ENDURING and IRAQI FREEDOM.  In 2006, he reported to his second tour afloat aboard the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) in San Diego, California.  He completed numerous training exercises, three deployments and was promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 2007.  In 2010, he reported to AIMD Atsugi, Japan as the 900 Division Leading Chief Petty Officer and the Quality Assurance Supervisor and Quality Assurance Officer and later was selected to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2012. 

In May of 2013, he reported back to sea duty onboard the USS Bon Homme Richard (LHD 6) homeported in Sasebo, Japan followed by another tour back to Atsugi, Japan and served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for AIMD and was selected for the Command Senior Chief program in 2018.

In November 2018, he reported to Fleet Readiness Center Western Pacific (FRCWP) in Atsugi as the Command Senior/Master Chief and the CMC for VAQ-141 “Shadowhawks” between Jan 2020 homeported in Iwakuni, Japan.   

Currently, Master Chief Liam is serving as the Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ 129) “Vikings” Command Master Chief located in NAS Whidbey Island, Washington.

He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 216 (Purple Group) and Command Master Chief /Chief of the Boat Class 193 in Newport, Rhode Island.  He is designated as an Enlisted Aviation and Surface Warfare Specialist and awarded various personal, service, unit, and campaign awards.
