Command Master Chief Miesle

Command Master Chief, Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 129

26 October 2020 Raised in Elmore, OH, Master Chief Miesle enlisted under the delayed entry program in the spring of 1989.  Completing basic training at Orlando, FL in November 1990, he attended Electronic Technician "A" School, and reported onboard USS VICKSBURG’s Pre-Commissioning Unit in Norfolk, VA.

While assigned on VICKSBURG (CG 69), he served as primary surface search radar and navigation technician, Interior Communications Work Center Supervisor, and completed two deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf, earning his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist qualification.  In 1996 he reported to NAS Brunswick, Maine and served as the Ground Electronics Division Work Center Supervisor until 1999.

In 1999, he reported to Naval Special Warfare Development Group and served as the Mobility Squadron Leading Petty Officer, earning his Freefall Parachutist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist qualification.  While assigned, he was advanced to Chief Petty Officer in 2003, and served as the Communications Detachment Chief and the Communications Detachment Teams Leading Chief Petty Officer until 2005.

In 2005, he reported as the Automated Data Processing Division Leading Chief Petty Officer for Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing FIVE (CPRW 5) and was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer in April 2007.  After graduating from the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 132) as an honor graduate, he was subsequently selected as Command Senior Chief and reported to the USS UNDERWOOD (FFG 36) in 2008, completing two South Pacific deployments and advancing to Command Master Chief in 2010.  In 2011 Command Master Chief Miesle reported to the “WIZARDS” of VAQ-133 and completed two deployments with CSG-3 onboard the USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74), and in 2014 reported for duty with the “WORLD WATCHERS” of Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron One (VQ-1). In 2017 Master Chief Miesle again returned to sea duty, this time with VAQ-138, the “YELLOW JACKETS”, completing two PACOM deployments.

Master Chief Miesle is currently serving as the Command Master Chief of VAQ-129, the “VIKINGS”.
