Commander Ryan P. Jauregui

A native of Boise, Idaho, Commander Jauregui graduated from the University of Idaho in 2007, earning a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. CDR Jauregui was commissioned through the Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI and then reported to NAS Pensacola, FL for flight training in July 2008 and earned his Naval Flight Officer Wings in July 2010. In March 2011, CDR Jauregui reported to the VAW-115 "Liberty Bells" in Atsugi, Japan as a component of CVW-5 and Forward Deployed Naval Forces (FDNF) Japan. While forward deployed, CDR Jauregui patrolled six times aboard USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) within the Pacific Theater and participated in two Humanitarian Assistance / Disaster Relief (HA/DR) operations, Operation TOMODACHI and Operation DAMAYAN. Prior to departing the FDNF pattern, CDR Jauregui was selected for and graduated from the TOPGUN Air Intercept Controller (AIC) course, and attained a Level IV (4) designation.
Upon completing his first sea tour, CDR Jauregui graduated from the Carrier Airborne Early Warning Weapons School in the Spring of 2014 and earned the title as a Weapons & Tactics Instructor (WTI). Following his graduation, he reported in the Fall of 2014 to Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) as staff at STRIKE (N5) in Fallon, NV. With his time aboard STRIKE, CDR Jauregui was the Phase Head for Dynamic Targeting (DT) and the lead Command & Control (C2) element. His technical instruction encompassed nine Carrier Air Wings (CVWs) over his three-year tour while concurrently instructing CVW Mission Commanders and CVWs in current JOINT operations within Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.
In the Fall of 2017, CDR Jauregui reported to the VAW-113 “Black Eagles” in Point Mugu, CA as the command’s Training Officer (TO) and deployed twice aboard the USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) within the Pacific Theater. Following his TO role, he was selected as a Secretary of the Navy Tours with Industry Fellow where he spent a year as a Learning & Development and Sales consultant with LinkedIn in San Francisco, CA (2019-2020).
CDR Jauregui returned to the fleet as a Department Head (DH) in the VAW-115 “Liberty Bells” for a second time in the Fall of 2020. He completed two deployments to the Pacific Theater aboard USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71). He served as the Command’s Admin Officer for 14 months, and Maintenance Officer for 17 months. Upon completing his DH tour in the Spring of 2022, CDR was selected for Command during his time as an instructor with the VT-4 “Warbucks” from 2022-2023 in Pensacola, FL. He is scheduled to report to VAW-113 as Executive Officer in September 2023. CDR Jauregui has accumulated over 2,300 flight hours in seven aircraft and 520 carrier arrested landings. His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards), Humanitarian Service Medal (3 awards), and various service awards and ribbons
