27 October 2020 Master Chief Petty Officer New is a native of San Diego, California and reported to basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, in July 2002.  After graduating from basic training, he attended Aviation Machinist Mate (AD) “A” school and began his career.

He served in a variety of training and operational commands including the “Sharp Shooters” of Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 101, the “Rooks” of Electronic Attack Squadron 137, the “Bounty Hunters” of Fighter Attack Squadron 2, USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6), LCS Crew 233 PCU KINGSVILLE Blue, and LCS Crew 217 USS TULSA Gold.

His sea assignments included deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom onboard USS ENTERPIRSE (CVN 65), USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), USS RONALD REGAN (CVN 76), Rim of the Pacific multinational exercise onboard USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6), and a 7th Fleet Operational deployment as the Senior Enlisted Leader onboard USS TULSA (LCS 16). 

Assignments to shore and staff billets have included, Fleet Readiness Center West as a 41V floor supervisor charged with the inspection, disassembly, assembly, and test of the F414-GE-400 Super Hornet engine, and as a Recruit Division Commander at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois where he transformed 933 civilians to Sailors and earned Master Training Specialist and the Distinguished Leadership Award for training excellence at the Navy’s only boot camp.

 Master Chief New is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 232/Purple), CMC/COB school (Class 226) and currently serves as the Command Master Chief for Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron FOUR (HSC 4). His awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal (four awards), and various other personal and unit awards
