27 October 2020 A native of Queens, New York, Command Master Chief Alberto Torres enlisted in the Navy in December 1998. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, he reported to the USS Avenger (MCM 1) as an undesignated seaman recruit. Master Chief Torres is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 217).

Master Chief Torres' sea duty assignments include USS Avenger (MCM 1); LCS Mine Warfare Mission Detachment Two; USS Champion (MCM 4); USS Devastator (MCM 6); USS Gladiator (MCM 11); USS Scout (MCM 8) where he served as the operations department leading chief petty officer; and command senior chief aboard USS Omaha (LCS 12).
 
His shore duty assignments include Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA) in Ingleside, TX; and Afloat Training Group (ATG) PACWEST in San Diego, CA. 
Master Chief Torres' current assignment is Command Master Chief for the HSM-35 Magicians in San Diego, CA.

His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
