28 October 2020 Command Master Chief Jason Evangelista, a native of Poughkeepsie, NY, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in September 1999, completing Aviation Electronics Technician “A” School in Pensacola, FL.  He is a graduate of the United States Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course (2018, Class 66) and earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix.

Master Chief Evangelista’s sea and operational tours include Strike Fighter Squadron (VF) 137 stationed at Naval Air Station (NAS) Lemoore, CA, where he served as the avionics leading chief petty officer, quality assurance supervisor, fight deck coordinator and maintenance control chief; USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) while stationed in Everett, WA where he served as the avionics division leading petty officer; and Sea-Operational Detachment (SEAOPDET) Whidbey Island, based out of Whidbey Island, WA, where he served as an avionics technician and deployed onboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.

His shore tours include Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS where he served as the calibration training department leading chief petty officer; CNATTU North Island, CA where he served as the senior instructor and master training specialist coordinator; and Fleet Readiness Center Northwest based out of Whidbey Island, WA.

Previous to being assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike (HSM) 75, he served as the Command Master Chief for USS Jackson (LCS 6) Blue.

Master Chief Evangelista’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal   (three awards); the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards); and other personal, unit, and service decorations.
