29 October 2020 Commander Conor “Good Deely” Heely received his wings in 2007 and reported to TACAMO to fly the E-6B at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.

Following a tour with the VQ-4 Shadows, he reported to Washington Navy Yard in 2010 as Commandant, Naval District Washington (NDW) Flag Aide, then to the USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN-76) in 2012 as V-2 Division Officer, Catapult & Arresting Gear Officer.
CDR Heely returned to the Roughnecks of VQ-7 as Training Officer in 2014, then Department Head in VQ-4 in 2016, finishing his tour as Maintenance Officer.

In 2018, he reported to Director, Air Warfare (OPNAV N98) as E-6B Requirements Officer, leading the Navy effort to determine a replacement platform for the E-6B in a joint-DoD Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) study.

CDR Heely graduated with honors from the Virginia Military Institute in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies, studied abroad at Oxford University, and earned a Master’s degree in Legislative Affairs from The George Washington University.  He is a Naval War College graduate.

He has logged over 2,000 hours flying STRATCOM missions and exercises, including 22 missions supporting convoy operations in Baghdad in 2008 for IRAQI FREEDOM.  His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various service awards and ribbons.

He is married to Erin Heely of Roanoke, Virginia.  They have three children:  Finn (10), Jack (8) and Beatrice (4).
