29 October 2020 A native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Commander Davis graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in 2003, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He commissioned through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Program and reported to NAS Pensacola, FL for flight training in August 2003.  He completed flight training at Randolph AFB, TX earning his Naval Flight Officer Wings in October 2004. CDR Davis selected the TACAMO community, joining the Ironman squadron VQ-3 in Tinker AFB, OK.  CDR Davis served as a Legal Officer and Operations Flight Officer, and notably completed a deployment to CENTCOM in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  For his efforts, CDR Davis was selected as the 2007 Strategic Communications Wing One Junior Officer of the Year. 
CDR Davis was selected to attend US Naval Test Pilot School with Class 134 in NAS Patuxent River, MD, completing the Airborne Systems program in 2008.  Following graduation, CDR Davis joined the E-6B developmental test team at VX-20, where he was the lead project officer on all E-6B mission systems programs, including the Block 1 upgrade.  His test team was recognized for their efforts with the Block 1 program by being awarded the 2010 Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Commander’s Award, and he was personally selected as the 2010 Naval Test Wing Atlantic Test NFO of the Year.  He completed his Masters of Science in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University while stationed at NAS Patuxent River.  CDR Davis departed Patuxent River for his disassociated sea tour, joining the crew of USS Harry S Truman as the Assistant Strike Operations Officer in 2011.  He completed workups and deployed with Truman for its 2013 deployment.
Upon completion of his tour with USS Harry S Truman, CDR Davis once again joined the Ironmen of VQ-3 as a Department Head in 2013.  On this tour, he served as the Communications Officer, Admin Officer, and finally as the Operations Officer.  CDR Davis proceeded to NAS North Island, CA following his department head tour and served on the Naval Air Forces, Pacific Fleet staff as the E-6B Readiness Officer.  In that role, he served as the Air Boss’ TACAMO subject matter expert, and supported the TYCOM’s oversight role as part of the Navy Nuclear Weapons Assessment program. 
CDR Davis has accumulated more than 3,000 flight hours in 25 aircraft, including more than 400 combat flight hours in the E-6B.  His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal (2 awards), Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards) and various service awards and ribbons.  CDR Davis is married to his high school sweetheart Mary Kathleen, and is the proud father of two boys, Christopher and Harrison.
