21 December 2020 Command Master Chief Larry Lynch, a native of Woodbridge, Virginia, reported to Recruit Training Command, San Diego, California in June 1991.  Upon completion of recruit training, he attended Radioman class “A” school before reporting to his first sea duty assignment as a Radioman Seaman Recruit and in 1999, due to a rating merger, he converted Information Systems Technician.  In 2009, he was selected to the Command Senior Chief Program and converted to Command Master Chief in 2011, upon his selection to Master Chief Petty Officer.
He has served in a myriad of sea duty assignments, including USS FORT FISHER (LSD 40), USS PEARL HARBOR (LSD 52), USS NIMITZ (CVN 68), and Mine Countermeasure Crew CONSTANT, where he served as Command Senior Chief serving aboard USS WARRIOR (MCM 10), USS DEXTROUS (MCM 13), and USS CHIEF (MCM 14). He also served aboard USS SOMERSET (LPD 25), where he is a plankowner, and aboard USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD 8), both as the Command Master Chief.
His shore duty assignments include tours at Navy Recruiting District Kansas City in Kansas City, Missouri, Navy Marine Corps Intranet Detachment San Diego, and Combined Joint Task Force, Horn of Africa.  He also served at Afloat Training Group San Diego and Afloat Training Group Pacific as the Command Master Chief.
He completed eight shipboard deployments to the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Central Command in support of Operations United Shield, Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.  He also deployed with the joint task force to the Horn of Africa region.
Lynch is a graduate of the U. S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 138/Green) and CMC/COB Course (Class 62) and has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and various campaign and service medals.
