Command Master Chief Oneil Lewis

Command Master Chief Oneil Lewis is a native of Trelawney,
Jamaica and enlisted in the United States Navy in January 1999.
Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training
Command, Great Lakes Illinois, he reported to Hospital
Corpsman “A” School for his apprenticeship training and once
complete, reported to Field Medical Service School, Camp
Johnson, North Carolina.

Upon graduation he reported to his first duty assignment, 2nd
Medical Battalion, 2nd Force Service Support Group, Camp
Lejeune, North Carolina, completing a deployment to Iraq with the
24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. From there, in 2003 he reported
to Naval Hospital Signonella, Naval Air Station Sigonella and
after, reported to Naval Survival Training Institute, Naval Air
Station Pensacola, completing an Individual Augmentee tour to Afghanistan from July 2007
through October 2008 and advancing to Chief Petty Officer in 2009.

Stationed with 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in 2009, Master Chief Lewis
completed two deployments to Afghanistan with 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 9th
Marines and then he reported to Naval Branch Health Clinic Atsugi, Japan where he
subsequently advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2013. He reported onboard USS Ronald
Reagan (CVN 76) August 2015 and was selected for the Command Senior Chief program
February 2017. August of that same year he was advanced to Command Master Chief and
reported to Strike Fighter Squadron 102 (VFA 102) October 2017 and to USS Chancellorsville
(CG 62) in June 2020.

Master Chief Lewis is currently serving as the Command Master Chief for USS Theodore
Roosevelt (CVN 71). He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, with a major in Health Care
Administration from Trident University. Additionally, he has earned his Enlisted Aviation Warfare
Specialist, Surface Warfare Specialist, Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist, Information
Warfare Specialist, Master Training Specialist and Afloat Training Specialist designations.

Master Chief Lewis is a graduate of the U. S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 170
(Brown). His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (Two); Navy and Marine
Corps Commendation Medal (Five); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal; Combat
Action Ribbon; Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal; and various unit and campaign
awards.
