Captain Patrick Corrigan

Captain Patrick “Ernie” Corrigan is a native of Miller Place, New York. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1999, and his Master’s in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in 2013. He received his commission from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1999 and was designated a Naval Aviator in January 2002.

Captain Corrigan’s fleet assignments include tours with Strike Fighter Squadron EIGHT TWO (VFA-82), Strike Fighter Squadron ONE NINE FIVE (VFA-195), Strike Fighter Squadron EIGHT SIX (VFA-86), commanded Strike Fighter Squadron ONE FOUR SEVEN (VFA-147) and Carrier Air Wing FIVE (CVW-5). He has completed multiple deployments aboard USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65), USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN-72), USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN-73), USS NIMITZ (CVN-68) and USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN-76).

Ashore he served as an instructor at the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and as the Commanding Officer of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE TWO FIVE (VFA-125). Other shore assignments include Joint Chiefs of Staff, J-7 (Education and Doctrine Division) and F-35C Requirements Officer, OPNAV (N98).

His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Strike/Flight Air Medal, and various campaign and unit awards.
