31 December 2020 Command Master Chief Hicks, a native of Brighton, TN, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March 1991.  Following the completion of recruit training and rate training, he began his career as an Aviation Electronics Technician at Mobile Maintenance Facility GOLF (MMF-G), NAS Memphis, TN.

Master Chief Hicks is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class BC 52 Silver) with recognition on the Dean’s List for academic excellence and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Coarse.  He is a graduate of Florida State College at Jacksonville where he earned his Associate’s degree, a graduate of Liberty University where he earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.  He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Executive Leadership with the University of Charleston. 
Master Chief Hicks’ previous assignments include: Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department, NAS JRB Willow Grove, PA; Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron SEVEN FIVE (HS-75), NAS Jacksonville, FL; Fleet Logistics Support Squadron ONE (VR-1) and NAF/NOSC Washington, Joint Base Andrews-NAFW, MD; Fleet Logistics Support Squadron FIVE ONE (VR-51), MCBH Kaneohe Bay, HI; U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Newport, RI; and Fighter Squadron Composite TWELVE (VFC-12), NAS Oceana, VA.  
He completed an Overseas Contingency Operations Support Assignment/Individual Augmentee (OSA/IA) as Senior Enlisted Advisor, U.S. Central Command Deployment and Distribution Operation Center (CDDOC), Camp Arifjan, Kuwait in support of Operations NEW DAWN and ENDURING FREEDOM. 
In March 2021, Master Chief Hicks proudly assumed the duties as Command Master Chief of Navy Air Logistics Office, NAS JRB New Orleans, LA.Master Chief Hicks’ awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (two awards) and various other service and campaign awards.
