CDR Christopher Davis

03 December 2021 A native of Asheville, North Carolina, CDR Davis graduated from Mars Hill College in 2002, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. CDR Davis was commissioned through the Platoon Leaders Course and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. After completion of The Basic school in Quantico, VA his flight training began at NAS Pensacola, FL in August 2003. He earned his Pilot Wings in December 2005 and reported to the VAQ 129 “Vikings” for initial fleet training in the EA-6B.
 
CDR Davis began his operational flying in April 2007 with the “Seahawks” of  VMAQ-4.  During his tour he completed 3 combat deployments, supporting Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (Afghanistan).  During this tour CDR Davis also graduated from Marine Aviation Weapon and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course.
 
CDR Davis reported to MAWTS-1 in February 2012 and began his tour as an EA-6B instructor.  While with MAWTS-1, CDR Davis conducted advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructors and taught students attending the Marine Corps bi-annual WTI course.
 
With the sundown of the EA-6B CDR Davis, transitioned to the Navy in May of 2014, and began his Fleet Replacement Squadron training with the VAQ-129 “Vikings” in the EA-18G.
 
In April 2015, CDR Davis reported to the fleet as a Department Head in VAQ-141, the “Shadowhawks”.  While with the “Shadowhawks”, he completed one patrol aboard USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) and two patrols aboard the USS RONALD REAGAN (CNN 76), serving as both Operations Officer and Maintenance Officer.
 
Following his department head tour, CDR Davis served as an action officer, United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), J-3 Directorate.  While on the AFRICOM Staff, he was as an Operations Officer in the Joint Operations Center responsible for
monitoring and coordinating operations across the African continent and a Line of
Effort 3 coordinator responsible for synchronizing the Combatant Commands and
components efforts in Somalia.
 
CDR Davis has accumulated over 2,500 flight hours and flown 193 combat missions in the EA-6B and EA-18G aircraft while performing 244 carrier arrested landings. His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal (14 awards), Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), and Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various service awards and ribbons.
 
CDR Davis is married to his beautiful wife of 15 years, Kim, and has one daughter, Stella and one son Liam.
