Captain Robert H. Vohrer

CAPT Vohrer was born and raised in Upstate NY.  He enlisted in the Navy in 1985, served 13 years as an Enlisted Submarine Nuclear Reactor Operator/Diver, attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer, and in 2001 earned a commission via Officer Candidate School.

He completed Aviation Maintenance Officer School and was assigned to the Dusty Dogs of HS-7, serving as Material Control Officer and Assistant Maintenance Officer (AMO). While there, he deployed with USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75).

In 2005, CAPT Vohrer transferred to HSL-40 as the Maintenance Material Control Officer (MMCO) and was awarded the 2007 COMHSMWING Maintenance Officer of the Year.

In 2008, he was assigned to Fleet Readiness Center Southeast and served as Power Plants Division Officer, Engine Production Officer, Avionics Division Officer, and MMCO.

In 2012, CAPT Vohrer reported to NAVAIR Logistics and Industrial Operations, serving as an Aircraft Carrier Integrated Product Team Lead.  He led an Operational Logistics Assessment to evaluate the V-22 as a replacement for the aging C-2A, resulting in a stellar product well below cost schedule.

In 2014, CAPT Vohrer reported to USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75) for his IM-1 tour. While there, his AIMD team earned a perfect score on their Aviation Maintenance Inspection (AMI) and completed a highly successful combat deployment in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, helping TRUMAN to win the 2016 Battle “E” Award.
 
In 2016, CAPT Vohrer transferred to COMNAVAIRLANT, filling the position of Shore Readiness Officer in support of 453 Navy and Marine activities. While there, CAPT Vohrer was honored to be selected for Aviation Captain Command. 
 
In 2018, CAPT Vohrer reported for his Department Head tour onboard USS NIMITZ (CVN 68).  While onboard, his AIMD department aced the 2020 CNAF AMI and completed a nine-month 5th/7th Fleet deployment during a COVID environment.

In 2020, CAPT Vohrer reported to COMHELSEACOMBATWINGLANT as the WING Maintenance Officer, overseeing 11 MH-60S/MH-53E/MQ-8 squadrons. While there, he was selected by a NAVAIR Slate Board for Production Officer.
 
In 2022, CAPT Vohrer reported to Fleet Readiness Center Southeast, serving as the Production Officer.  He selected for Major Command and transferred to FRCW, Lemoore CA for duties as Executive Officer in July, 2023.
CAPT Vohrer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from New School University of New York and a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He holds certifications in Level III Production Quality Management, Level II in Life Cycle Logistics, and Level I in Program Management. Additionally, he is a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps and is authorized to wear the Professional Aviation Maintenance Officer Warfare, Enlisted Submarine Warfare, and U.S. Navy Scuba Diver insignia.

CAPT Vohrer’s personal decorations include four Meritorious Service Medals, five Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medals and nine Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
