Commander Kelly "Magoo" Dossenback
Commanding Officer, Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 137

CDR Kelly “Magoo” Dossenback is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and a 2002 graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation. He was designated a Naval Aviator in September 2004 in Kingsville, Texas and received orders to the F/A-18 Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) in Lemoore, California.
Following completion of FRS training in August, 2005 CDR Dossenback reported to the “Vigilantes” of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE FIVE ONE (VFA-151) at NAS Lemoore, California. In the summer of 2006, he deployed onboard USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72) to the western Pacific and again in the summer of 2008, deployed in support of Operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM. In September of 2009, CDR Dossenback graduated the US Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and received follow-on orders as a TOPGUN instructor.
In the fall of 2014, CDR Dossenback reported as a Department Head to the “TOPHATTERS” of Strike Fighter Squadron FOURTEEN (VFA-14) where he deployed onboard USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74) in the 7th Fleet AOR. During his tour with the “TOPHATTERS,” CDR Dossenback was awarded the 2016 COMNAVAIRPAC pilot of the year. Following his tour at VFA-14, he reported to COMNAVAIRPAC as the VFA Readiness Officer. He is currently assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE THREE SEVEN (VFA-137).
CDR Dossenback has over 3,000 hours of flight time including over 500 carrier arrestments. His personal awards include the Strike/Flight Air Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, as well as multiple unit and service awards.
