08 June 2021 Information Systems Technician Senior Chief Petty Officer Box was born September 23, 1983 in Columbus, Ohio. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July 2001 and attended basic training and IT Apprentice school in Great Lakes, Il. Senior Chief Box holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Leadership from the University of Charleston and is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 220 Brown), and the Special Operations Radio Operators Course (Class 1-18).

Senior Chief Box completed Information Systems Technician “A” school in 2002 before reporting to NCTAMS EURCENT Naples Italy as a Transmissions Systems Supervisor as well as 18 months as a MP on the Auxiliary Security. His subsequent sea and overseas assignments include: NCTS Bahrain as a Transmission Systems Technician Supervisor, additionally completing 13 months of Emergency Response Team as a Technical Rescue team leader; USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) as an Automated Data Processing Supervisor in charge of the embarked Marine Expeditionary Unit communications systems; NCSA Naples as a Tech Control Supervisor and NATO Signal Squadron NCOIC, a member of the Joint Mission Training Team whose mission was to train NATO and Partner for Peace Nations in subject matter to include urban combat operations, convoy operations, mentorship, leadership, and combat medicine; SEAL Team FOUR as the N6 Department Leading Chief Petty Officer (DLCPO); USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) as the Information Systems DLCPO, Command Fitness Leader, MWR Officer, COMREL Coordination, Senior Enlisted Watch Bill Coordination, Combat Information Center Watch Officer, and Communication Watch Officer; Joint Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, NC, as an Operations Planner. Joint Communications Unit, Fort Bragg, NC as a Communications Team Leader.

He is currently serving as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader at TOCRON TEN, Naval Air Station, Whidbey Island, WA.

Senior Chief Box’s personal decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (two awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal (two awards), Navy Achievement Medal (six awards), Combat Action Ribbon (three awards), the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal as well as numerous other service and campaign medals. He has completed two combat tours in Iraq, and five tours in Afghanistan. He is qualified as an Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist, Expeditionary Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, an advanced open water diver (civilian certified), and is designated as a Naval Parachutist.
