Commander Christopher Speicher

Commander Christopher Speicher was born and raised in Cape May, New Jersey. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, and the University of Arkansas in 2013 with a Master of Science degree in Operations Management.

CDR Speicher was designated a Naval Flight Officer (NFO) in 2007.  After initial training in the P-3C “Orion”, his first fleet assignment was with the “Fighting Tigers” of VP-8, where he completed two overseas deployments to FIFTH and SEVENTH Fleets.

In April of 2010, CDR Speicher reported for instructor duty to “The Pro’s Nest” of VP-30, followed by Weapons Tactics Instructor Duty at the Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Weapons School as the Fleet Subject Matter Expert on Anti-submarine Warfare weapons employment.

Post Instructor duty, CDR Speicher joined The SEVENTH Fleet Staff as a member of the Commander’s Initiative Group and Flag Aide to Commander Seventh Fleet.

CDR Speicher was selected as an Aviation Department Head in 2016 and transitioned to the P-8A Poseidon aircraft. He completed his department head tour with the “Mad Foxes” of VP-5, deploying to FIFTH, SIXTH, and SEVENTH Fleets. While onboard, he served as Innovation Officer, NATOPS Officer, and Operations Officer.

In August 2018, CDR Speicher reported to the Undersea Warfighting Development Center (UWDC) as Director of Theater Anti-submarine Warfare (TASW) Training, Assessment and Operations.

CDR Speicher reported to Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility (FACSFAC) San Diego as the Executive Officer in 2020.

CDR Speicher has accrued over 2500 flight hours in the P-3C “Orion” and P-8A “Poseidon” aircraft.  Personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Strike Flight Air Medal (2), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), and various unit and campaign awards.
