Master Chief Air Traffic Controller Michael J. Wooten

Master Chief Wooten was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida.  In January of 1998, Master Chief Wooten enlisted in the United States Navy and graduated from Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) Pensacola, FL for Air Traffic Control “A” school in August.
After completion of “A” school he reported to the USS PELELIU (LHA-5), where he began his career as an Air Traffic Controller and received his Amphibious Air Traffic Control Watch Officer designation during his tour.  Other duty stations and assignments include; Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility (FACSFAC), San Diego where he received his Facility Watch Supervisor designation; Tactical Air Control Squadron (TACRON) TWELVE achieving the qualification of Tactical Watch Officer; NAS Whidbey Island, WA as Facility Watch Supervisor, Radar and Tower NATOPS Instructor for ATC division; COMTACGRU ONE served as the COMNAVSURFPAC ATC TYCOM and COMTACGRU ONE Training Department LCPO; USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN-76) where he served as the OC LCPO and CATCC Watch Officer. 
In March 2020 he reported to Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility (FACSFAC), San Diego as the Radar Operations Control Center LCPO and is currently serving as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the command.
Master Chief Wooten is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 204.  His decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards) and numerous others awards.
