Command Master Chief Andrew J. Jenkins

Command Master Chief Andrew Jenkins is a native of White Cloud, Michigan. After joining the Navy in 2004, he graduated from basic training at RTC Great Lakes, IL and reported to his first duty station, USS NASSAU (LHA-4) in Norfolk, VA. He served onboard LHA-4 for 18 months as a deck seaman until he attended Hospital Corpsman “A” school, in Great Lakes, IL. In April, 2006 he reported to Branch Medical Clinic, Naval Air Station, Brunswick, Maine where he was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class and deployed to EMF Kuwait Hospital as an individual augmentee.
 
In 2008 he was promoted to Petty Officer Second Class and received orders to Field Medical Training Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA and then 1ST Battalion, 3RD Marine Division, Kaneohe Bay, HI. He deployed with 1/3 to Southern Helmand province, Afghanistan in November 2009 and was advanced to Petty Officer First Class in January 2010. In May 2011 he was advanced to Chief Petty Officer and then transferred to U.S Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, HI as the Enlisted Advisor to the U.S. Pacific Fleet Master Chief.
 
In 2012 he was selected for assignment as a Recruit Division Commander where he trained 10 recruit divisions, earning the distinguished leadership award for excellence, Master Training Specialist, and was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer in June 2015. In December 2015 he reported to USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) as the Medical Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and deployed to the 5th and 6th fleet AOR. In November 2016, he was reassigned as the Medical Department Leading Chief Petty Officer on USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77) and subsequently deployed to the 5th and 6th fleet AOR.
 
In 2019 he transferred to U.S. Naval Hospital Naples, Italy where he was selected to Master Chief Petty Officer and assigned as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Branch Health Clinic, Naval Support Activity, Capodichino. In January 2020 he reported to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Great Lakes at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL and was assigned as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Directorate for Resource Management. In March of 2022, he was selected for the Command Master Chief program and assigned to Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 131 in Whidbey Island, Washington.  
 
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (eight awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various campaign, personal, and unit citations.
