​Command Master Chief Conrad Hunt

CMDCM Hunt, a native of Maine, enlisted and reported to Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., in 2002 and began his career as an undesignated seaman. 
 
He reported onboard USS Vella Gulf (CG 72) in Dec. 2002 and struck Boatswain Mate in 2004.  He deployed 3 times to the Arabian Gulf and conducted anti-piracy operations off the coast of Somalia.  In 2009 he reported to USS Carr (FFG-52) and conducted a deployment to South America conducting counter drug interdiction with the Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment. 
 
In 2011, Hunt transferred to Boston, Mass., to serve onboard America’s Ship of State, USS Constitution, where he was the Command Historian teaching junior Sailors the history and legacy of the US Navy.  In Aug. 2012, the USS Constitution set sail unassisted for the first time in 15 years with Senior Hunt as Sailmaster. He was selected and initiated as a Chief Petty Officer in 2013. 
 
In 2014, Hunt reported to USS Hurricane (PC 3) in Norfolk, VA and assisted in the preparation and transportation of the ship to its forward deployed base in Manama, Bahrain.  While there he achieved his Officer of the Deck qualification and conducted escort duties to vessels of interest in the Strait of Hormuz.  He was the recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Leadership Award in 2014.  In 2015, reported to USS Roosevelt (DDG 80) where he conducted a deployment to 5th Fleet and was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program in 2017. He served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for USS Sioux City (LCS 11) Gold Crew for three years where he completed 2 deployments to 4th Fleet and was advanced to Command Master Chief in 2022.

Hunt is a graduate of the U. S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 220/Blue) and CMC/COB Class in Nov. 2018.  He has been awarded the Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Achievement Medal (eight awards), and various other personal and unit awards. 
 
He currently serves as the Command Master Chief of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 122.
