Command Master Chief Ramie V. Ellender

A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Command Master Chief Ramie V. Ellender enlisted in the United States Navy in December 2001, subsequently completing basic training at Recruit Training Center Great Lakes, Chicago, Illinois. Upon completion of Aviation Structural Mechanic “A” School in 2002 he reported to Fighter Squadron 11 (VF-11) “Red Rippers” to work on the F-14C Tomcat and then transitioned aircraft platform to the Fighter Attack  (F/A 18F) Superhornet (VFA-11). After six years as a Red Ripper, he completed Non-Destructive Inspection Aviation Intermediate Level Maintenance "C" school. 

Command Master Chief Ellender’s Sea tours include Fighter Squadron/Strike Fighter Squadron Eleven (VF/VFA-11), USS JOHN. F. KENNEDY (CV  67), USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73), USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75); Helicopter Squadron Six (HC-6) Detachment Six on board the USS MOUNT WHITNEY (LCC 20); Fleet Readiness Center West Sea Operational detachment, where he served onboard the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72). He was selected to Chief Petty Officer in 2014 while serving onboard Fleet Readiness Center West Lemoore. He also served in Strike Fighter Squadron Eight One (VFA 81) “Sunliners” on USS HARRY S. TRUMAN as Administration Department Leading Chief Petty Officer, Maintenance Senior Chief, and Quality Assurance Supervisor.  Currently, Master Chief Ellender is privileged to humbly serve as the Command Master Chief for the “Gray Wolves” of Electronic Attack Squadron ONE FOUR TWO at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington.

Shore assignments include Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic Oceana and Commander Fleet Readiness Centers Patuxent River, Maryland where he served as Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and Quality Assurance Supervisor.  He most recently served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader at the Milwaukee Military Entrance Processing Station. In February of 2022, Master Chief Ellender was selected to the Command Senior Enlisted Leadership Program. He is a graduate of the Navy's Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 240, Red), CMC/COB course, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with Associate and Baccalaureate Degrees in Technical Management. Personal Awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation (Second Award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Seventh Award), Good Conduct Medal (Sixth Award) and various unit commendations.
