Captain Robert “Skillz” Majoris

Captain Robert “Skillz” Majoris was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania. He graduated from The United States Naval Academy in 1999, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.

After graduation and commissioning, Majoris went on to Naval pilot training and earned his Wings at Vance Air Force Base (AFB) in Enid, Oklahoma. In 2002, Majoris reported to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ) 3 for his first operational tour, flying the E-6B Mercury. In 2005, he transferred to VQ-7, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma and served as an instructor pilot at the E-6B Fleet Replacement Squadron. Additionally, during his tour with VQ-7, he detached to Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, flying communication relay missions over Iraq. In 2006, Majoris was selected as the Strategic Communications Wing  (SCW) 1 Instructor Pilot of the Year.

Majoris departed Oklahoma in 2007 and reported aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) as the Assistant Strike Officer, also gaining his OOD underway qualification. In 2009, he transferred to the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island where he completed Joint Professional Military Education-1 and earned a master’s degree in Strategic Studies. Afterward, he returned to Tinker AFB as a Department Head with the VQ-3 “Ironman” squadron, completing his tour as the Operations Officer. 

In 2013, Majoris became a battlestaff member aboard the National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC) at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. During his tour aboard the NAOC, Majoris served as a Current and Strategic Operations Officer, a nuclear targeting adaptive planner, a strike advisor, and the Emergency Actions Officer section chief. He reported back to Tinker AFB in 2016 to assume duties as the Executive Officer and then Commanding Officer of VQ-4. Following his command tour, he reported to the Pentagon and served on the OPNAV staff as N2N6 Requirements Officer for Navy NC3 and E-6B weapon systems.

He assumed duties as Deputy Commander, SCW-1, and Task Group (TG) 114.2 in February 2021 and assumed his current responsibilities as the Commodore/Commander of SCW-1/TG-114.2 in August of 2022.

Majoris has amassed more than 3,000 hours in the T-34C, T-1A, E-6B, and B737 aircraft. His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various other unit and personal awards.
