Commander Coe R. Hoffman

A native of Pensacola, FL, Commander Hoffman graduated from University of West Florida in 2006, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. CDR Hoffman was commissioned through Officer Candidate School and reported to NAS Pensacola, FL for flight training in August 2007. After being selected to fly the E-6B Mercury, he earned his “Wings of Gold” in September 2009 at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK. CDR Hoffman reported to the VQ-7 Roughnecks in October 2009 for initial fleet training as an E-6B pilot.

CDR Hoffman reported to the Ironmen of VQ-3 in April 2010 for his first operational tour. While an Ironman, he made multiple detachments, participating in Joint Chief of Staff, USSTRATCOM, and EUCOM exercises.

CDR Hoffman returned to NAS Pensacola in September 2013 for instructor pilot duty with the Wildcats of VT-10. Amassing over 1000 hours of instructional flight time, he was selected as TRAWING SIX’s Instructor of the Year 2015. CDR Hoffman furthered his education during this tour, earning an Executive MBA from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2016.

CDR Hoffman reported to the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) in May 2016. He served as the Assistant Navigator (ANAV) completing Sea Trials and a WESTPAC deployment.

CDR Hoffman returned to the TACAMO community in 2018 as a Department Head for both the Roughnecks and the Shadows, where he served as the FRS Training Officer, Administrative Officer, and Maintenance Officer. During this tour, he also completed Joint Professional Military Education (Phase I) through the Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL.

Following his department head tour, CDR Hoffman reported to Navy Personnel Command in Millington, TN where he served as assignments and placement officer for the VQ community, as well as placement officer for CNATRA staff and VT pilot training commands.

CDR Hoffman has accumulated over 2,800 flight hours in the T-34C, T-1A, E-6B, and T-6A aircraft. He is entitled to wear the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit and service awards.
