A native of Lubbock, TX, Commander Scarborough enlisted in the Navy in 1999.  In 2000, he reported for P-3C Flight Engineer Training with the “Pros Nest” of VP-30, earning his Naval Aircrew Wings in 2001 and reported to the “Golden Eagles”. While a “Golden Eagle”, he made two deployments in Fifth and Seventh Fleet, participating in Operation SOUTHERN WATCH, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, RIMPAC 2002, and COBRA GOLD 2003.
 
CDR Scarborough graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 2005, earning a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics. CDR Scarborough was commissioned through Officer Candidate School and reported for flight training in 2006. In March 2007, CDR Scarborough reported to the VQ-7 “Roughnecks” for initial fleet training as an E-6B Combat Systems Officer and earning his Naval Flight Officer Wings in September 2007. 
 
CDR Scarborough began his commissioned operational flying in 2007 with the “Ironmen” of VQ-3.  While an “Ironman”, he made multiple detachments, participating in Joint Chief of Staff, USSTRATCOM, and EUCOM exercises.  During this tour CDR Scarborough served as the NFO NATOPS Evaluator and was selected as the TACAMO NFO of the year for 2010.

CDR Scarborough reported back to VQ-7 in March 2011 as a Fleet Replacement Instructor serving as the NFO Curriculum Officer and Assistant Training Officer.
 
CDR Scarborough reported to the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) in March 2014.  He served as an Aircraft Launch and Recovery, V2 Division Officer and TOPCAT, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. CDR Scarborough reported to the Army Command General Staff College, Leavenworth, KS in June 2015.  While experiencing “the best year of his life” he was awarded JPME 1 and earned his Master of Arts degree in Acquisitions and Procurement from Webster University.
        
CDR Scarborough returned to the fleet as a Department Head at VQ-7, in June 2016.  While with the Roughnecks he served as the FRS Training Officer.  CDR Scarborough reported to the “Shadows” of VQ-4 in July 2017 for his Operational Department Head tour.  While with the Shadows he participated in multiple Joint Chief of Staff, USSTRATCOM, and EUCOM exercises serving as the Tactics Officer and Operational Officer.
         
Following his department head tour, CDR Scarborough served as an action officer at Commander USSTRATCOM’s NC3 Enterprise Center. Where he selected for operational command. CDR Scarborough has accumulated over 3,900 flight hours in three aircraft.  His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards), and Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards) and various service awards and ribbons.
