Command Master Chief Joel C. Hagstrom

Master Chief Hagstrom has built a distinguished career in the United States Navy, demonstrating remarkable dedication and leadership. Hailing from Port Orchard, Washington, he embarked on his naval journey in May 2000. After initial training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, and completing Aviation Electricians Mate A school in Pensacola, Florida, he was assigned to Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department Sea Operational Detachment in San Diego, California.
 
His early career saw him deploy twice to 5th Fleet and then transfer to Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Unit at Fallon, Nevada, in 2005, where he significantly contributed to Carrier Air Groups aircraft readiness during training cycles prior to deployment.
 
He has been stationed on USS CONSTELLATION (CV 64), USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), USS JOHN C STENNIS (CVN74) and conducted the Navy’s first deployment of the F-35C Lightning II onboard the USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70). Beyond his sea duties, Master Chief Hagstrom served as a Master Training Specialist on Instructor duty and was the Production Control Supervisor for Fleet Readiness Center Northwest, showcasing his versatility and leadership in various capacities.
 
Currently, he is fulfilling his first Command Master Chief tour at Patrol Squadron ONE (VP-1) in Whidbey Island, Washington. His academic accomplishments include a Green Belt certification in Continual Process Improvement and is a graduate of the Navy's Senior Enlisted Academy, underscoring his commitment to both personal and professional growth.
 
Master Chief Hagstrom's service has been recognized through multiple commendations, including two Navy Commendation Medals, five Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and several sea service and unit awards, reflecting his outstanding contributions and unwavering commitment to the Navy and his country.
