Commander Daniel Hutton

Commander Daniel Hutton is a native of Burnsville, MN and a graduate of the University of St Thomas (St Paul, MN), earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences. He was commissioned through the crosstown NROTC program at the University of Minnesota and designated an Aerospace Maintenance Duty Officer in May 2008.
 
He earned his Masters of Business Administration through the Naval Postgraduate School distance learning program in September 2020. In 2017, he was designated as an Acquisition Corps member. Hutton’s operational assignments included tours as Division Officer (DIVO), Material Control Officer (MCO) and Assistant Maintenance Officer (AMO) in Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 102, Aircraft Support Equipment Division Officer (IM-4) onboard the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), Aircraft Intermediate Maintenanace Department General Aviation Officer (IM-2) USS George Washington (CVN 73) and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), Carrier Air Group Maintenance Officer (CAGMO) in Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 2 as part of the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) Strike Group, and Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department Officer (AIMDO) onboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). During these tours he participated in multiple WESTPAC deployments, RIMPAC, regular patrols of the Asian Pacific region as part of the Forward Deployed Naval Forces (FDNF) and various work-up exercises and carrier qualification detachments.
 
His shore tours include Maintenance Material Control Officer (MMCO), and Contract Officer Representative (COR) in Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 122, Lemoore, CA, Deputy Department Head and Professor of Logistics (LOG) and Production, Quality, and Manufacturing (PQM) for the Defense Acquisition University, San Diego, CA, Military Assistant Program Manager for Logistics supporting the P-8/P-3 platforms, PMA-290, NAVAIR Systems Command, Patuxent River, MD. In December 2023, CDR Hutton reported onboard NAS Whidbey Island, and currently serves as the Executive Officer at Fleet Readiness Center Northwest.
 
Hutton earned his Profesional Aviation Maintenance Officer Wings and has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
