CAPT Daniel Quinn graduated from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA in May of 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.  In May of 1997, he completed Officer Candidate School and accepted a commission as an Ensign.  From there, he earned his Wings of Gold in December of 1998 and in January of 1999 reported to the “Grim Reapers” of
VF-101 for Radar Intercept Officer training in the F-14.
 
CAPT Quinn’s first fleet tour was with the “Diamondbacks” of VF-102, where he served from January 2000 to January 2003 and deployed twice in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH and ENDURING FREEDOM. 
 
In June 2003, CAPT Quinn graduated from the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and reported to the “Outlaws” of Strike Fighter Weapons School Pacific (SFWSP), Lemoore, CA and served as a Tactics Instructor, as well as the Training and Standardization Officer. 
 
CAPT Quinn went on to serve as the Training Officer for the “Black Knights” of VFA-154 from 2006 to 2008 where he deployed aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) in support of both Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.
 
In August of 2008, CAPT Quinn reported to the “Fighting Redcocks” of VFA-22 aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) for his department head tour.  While there, he completed two combat deployments in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. 
 
Following his Department Head tour, CAPT Quinn served on the staff of Commander, Naval Air Forces Pacific as the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet Readiness Officer at NAS North Island in San Diego, CA.
 
In February of 2014, CAPT Quinn returned to VFA-22.   After 15 months as the Executive Officer, he assumed command in May of 2015.  During his command tour, the Fighting Redcocks completed a 286-day combat deployment aboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70).   In 2015, the “Fighting Redcocks” earned the RADM C. Wade McClusky Award, the CNAP Battle “E”, the CNO Safety “S”, and numerous other unit accolades.
 
Following his command tour, CAPT Quinn was selected to attend the Eisenhower School at the National Defense University, where he earned a Master of Science Degree in National Resource Strategy.  He served an Aviation Program Analyst and Integrations and Operation Branch Head in Programming Division for the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV N80).  CAPT Quinn completed his OPNAV tour in the Fleet Readiness Division (OPNAV N83) as the lead action officer for the Vice Chief of Naval Operation’s “Performance to Plan (P2P)” initiative.
 
CAPT Quinn’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, an Air Medal (with Combat V), eight Strike Flight Medals, five Navy Commendation Medals (one with a Combat V), three Navy Achievement Medals and various campaign and unit awards.
