Command Master Chief Andre Dortrait

CMDCM Andre Dortrait is a native of Callao, Peru, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy through the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), Los Angeles, California in May 2000. He attended basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, and upon completion of his training, reported to USS TAYLOR (FFG 50) in Mayport, Florida as a Fireman Recruit.
 
Subsequently, he was designated as a striker to the yeoman rate and rose through the ranks while serving at the Office of the Judge Advocate General (OJAG) and Office of Naval Intelligence ONI) in Washington, D.C., and onboard USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC-19) in Yokosuka, Japan. He was involuntarily separated from the active component after 11 years of honorable service in June 2011 based on his year group under ‘Perform to Serve’ program policies. He relocated from Japan to Honolulu, Hawaii and joined the Navy Reserves right after. He was advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 2012 and during the eight years in the reserves, over six were performed on active-duty orders.
 
His assignments include the Regional Operations Center, Hawaii; Navy Information Operations Command, Hawaii; Naval Computer Telecommunications Area Master Station, Pacific; Joint Medical Group, Joint Task Force, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center, Forward Central, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar; Navy Operational Support Center, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; United States Africa Command, Royal Air Force Molesworth, United Kingdom; and Commander, United States Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He advanced to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2019 and was approved shortly after to resume his career on active duty through the Reserve Component to Active Component program.
 
He reported to VFA-2, Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, in October, 2019 and was selected to the Command Senior Chief program in February, 2021. His awards and decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards) as well as numerous unit
