Bryan Orlowski is a native of West Seneca, New York and a 2006 graduate from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, earning a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering Systems, a U.S. Coast Guard Third Engineers License, and a naval commission. He earned his Naval Flight Officer wings in 2008 as an F/A-18 Weapons Systems Officer. CDR Orlowski’s operational flying tours include the VFA-32 Swordsmen, the VFA-103 Jolly Rogers, and the VFA-11 Red Rippers. Through a series of deployments he has supported Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, INHERENT RESOLVE, and FREEDOM SENTINEL. His shores tours have included an instructor tour at the Gladiators of VFA-106 and the Joint Staff J35 Directorate for Regional Operations and Force Management. CDR Orlowski was a member of the inaugural cohort of the Navy’s Fleet Scholar Education Program (FSEP). He graduated in 2018 with a Master’s in Public Policy from Duke University. CDR Orlowski has accumulated over 2,500 flight hours, including over 50 combat missions. His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, including various service and campaign awards and ribbons.
