CMDCM Laura Blanco, is a native of Los Angeles, California. She enlisted in the Navy in July 2000, reported to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois and completed Navy Dental Technician “A” School at Wichita Falls, Texas. Additionally, she attended Field Medical Service School for further training in Jacksonville, NC.

Her previous tours include Branch Dental Clinic New London, Groton, CT; Dental Hygiene “C” School, Pensacola, FL; USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), Bremerton, WA; Branch Health Clinic Bangor, Silverdale, WA; 2d Dental Company, 2d Marine Logistic Group, Camp Lejeune, NC; Branch Health Clinic Puget Sound, Bremerton, WA; USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), Bremerton, WA, Navy Medicine Training Support Center, San Antonio, TX and Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, Montgomery, Alabama.

Senior Chief Blanco was selected for the Command Senior Chief program in March 2021 and is a graduate of the Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy (Blue Group, Class 238), Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (Class 228).

In January of 2022 Senior Chief Blanco reported to Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility, and was selected to Command Master Chief. She currently serves as the Command Master Chief of VAQ-144.

Master Chief Blanco’s awards include, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with two gold stars), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with one silver star and one gold star), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation and she is qualified as an Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Air Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist. She received an Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from the Pensacola State University.
