Senior Chief Samuel Statler
Command Senior Chief, Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 144

A native of Belmont, West Virginia, Senior Chief Statler enlisted in the United States Navy in August 2002. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL he attended Aviation Electronics Technician “A" School in Pensacola, FL.
Upon graduation, he attended Consolidated Automated Support System High-Power “C" school at MCAS Miramar, CA. He then reported to his first duty station, Sea-Operational Detachment AIMD Whidbey Island, WA in April 2004. While assigned to work center 64B, he deployed twice onboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72).
In April 2008, he transferred to Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane, IN to serve as the fleet-liaison in the Airborne Electronic Attack Division. Upon completion of this tour, he promoted to First Class Petty Officer in route to VFA-41 “Black Aces" in Lemoore, CA in March 2012.
While assigned to VFA-41, he completed a combat deployment onboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) from 2012-2013. He promoted to Chief Petty Officer in September 2014 and transferred to VFA-137 “Kestrels". He deployed onboard the USS George Washington (CVN-73) in 2015 as the ship transited from San Diego, CA to Norfolk, VA.
In March 2016, Senior Chief Statler was selected to Naval Personnel Command in Millington, TN to serve as a Placement Coordinator in PERS-40. He promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer in June 2018.
In November 2018, he reported to VAQ-132 where he deployed in 2019 and 2021 to the Western Pacific. He was selected to new construction squadron VAQ-144 “Main Battery" in October 2021 and reported in March 2022.
Senior Chief Statler is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 244, Gray). His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4), and numerous unit and campaign awards.
