Command Master Chief Trey Hauptmann

Command Master Chief Hauptmann was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1995. Upon completing Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Hospital Corpsman “A” School at Great Lakes.

Operationally, he has served on numerous types of platforms; 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines, 2nd Marine Division, USS SPRUANCE (DD 963), Marine Air Control Group 28, Helicopter Marine Medium Squadron 161, I&I Marine Air Control Squadron TWO THREE, USS NIMITZ (CVN 68), 82nd and 101st Airborne Sustainment Brigades, and Strike Fighter Squadron ELEVEN (VFA-11) “The Red Ripper, onboard the USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75).

His shore assignments included duties at Branch Medical Clinic in Mayport, Florida, Navy Recruiting District Denver in Colorado, and Naval Health Clinic New England. During his tour in Newport, Rhode Island, he was advanced to Master Chief and selected into the Command Master Chief program.

Command Master Chief Hauptmann is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 184. In 2019 he reported to VFA-11 “The Red Rippers” homeported at NAS Oceana, Virginia where he served as Command Master Chief. In September 2021 he transferred to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center/ Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Bethesda, until September 2023. Command Master Chief Hauptmann now serves as the Command Master Chief for Commander, Carrier Air Wing TWO in Lemoore, CA.

His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with two strike flights, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards), Army Achievement Medal, as well as numerous unit awards, campaign medals, and service awards.
