Command Master Chief Jonathan G. Adams

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Master Chief Adams enlisted in the Navy in July of 2000.  Following graduation of Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, he reported to NATTC Pensacola, FL for Aviation Machinist’s Mate ‘A’ School.  

His operational tours include Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron FIVE (HS-5) Jacksonville, FL where he completed two deployments onboard the USS John F. Kennedy; Electronic Attack Squadron 132 (VAQ-132) Whidbey Island, WA where he completed one deployment in country Al Asad Air Base Iraq and one deployment onboard the USS George Washington; Electronic Attack Squadron 133 (VAQ-133) Whidbey Island, WA completing one deployment onboard the USS John C. Stennis.  Lastly, he was the Command Senior Chief for ESB-5 Miguel Keith (Blue).  

His shore assignments include Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Nine (VX-9) China Lake, CA and Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL as a Recruit Division Commander training over 880 recruits.

In May 2024, he assumed duties as Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron SIX (HSC-6) Command Master Chief.

Command Master Chief Adams’ personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eight awards).  He is qualified to wear Enlisted Aviation Warfare and Enlisted Surface Warfare.  He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 251 (Orange) and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course.
