Command Master Chief Christian Altamirano

Master Chief Altamirano, is a native of San Antonio, TX. Upon graduating from John Marshall High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy from San Antonio, TX in July 1997. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Engineering Common Core School. Upon graduation, he reported for duty aboard the USS CORONADO (AGF-11) in Coronado, CA and struck Damage Controlman (DC).
His fleet assignments include USS CORONADO (AGF-11) , USS VALLEY FORGE (CG-50); USS GERMANTOWN (LSD-42); SPECIAL BOAT TEAM-12; USS ROSS (DDG-71); USS RUSHMORE (LSD-47); USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN-72) culminating in 19 years of sea service and 13 operational deployments. In addition, he completed shore assignments at NAS Kingsville; NSA Bahrain; NAVY Personnel Command (PERS); and (SEL) NTAG San Antonio. He reported as Command Master Chief of the “Talons” of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ONE FIVE, NAS Lemoore in May of 2025.
Master Chief Altamirano is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 237 (Khaki) and COB/CMC Class 25070. He holds an Associate’s Degree from Central Texas College and scheduled to complete his Bachelors of Science (BS) in Sports and Health Sciences from American Military University in June of 2026.
His awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Army Commendation Medal (1) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (9 awards) and various unit and campaign awards. He is qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Expeditionary Warfare Specialist and Coxswain (Small craft).
