Captain Wilfred Judd

CAPT Wilfred Judd, a native of Solon, Maine, enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1993, completing Recruit Training at Parris Island, South Carolina, Marine Combat Training at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Aviation Machinist Mate “A” School at Millington, Tennessee, and F404-GE-400/402 Intermediate Maintenance “C” School at Cecil Field, Florida. He graduated from University of Maryland University College in 2001 with a Bachelor in Business Administration and from Trident University International in 2010 with a Master’s in Business Administration and minor in Human Resource Management.
His enlisted tours of duty included Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12 onboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan from 1994 to 2000. This was followed by a tour as an Instructor for F404-GE-400/402 Intermediate Maintenance “C” School at the Center for Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) Lemoore, California from 2000 to 2004. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant.
He was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida in 2004.
At sea and forward deployed, CAPT Judd served in Strike Fighter Squadron 25 deploying aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), Maintenance/Material Control Officer in Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light Five One NAF Atsugi, Japan, Depot Production Officer at Fleet Readiness Western Pacific NAF Atsugi, Japan, and as Officer in Charge of Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment, Manama, Bahrain.
CAPT Judd’s shore tours were as Aircraft Maintenance Officer, Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24 onboard Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, Level Two Integrated Product Team Lead for Advanced Skills Management, Air Traffic Control, and Landing Signal Officer Training Systems for PMA-205, Naval Air Station Patuxent River Maryland, Officer in Charge Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Detachment Jacksonville Florida. He served as Executive Officer at FRC WESTPAC, NAF Atsugi, Japan.
Recently served as the Commanding Officer at FRC WESTPAC, NAF Atsugi, Japan.
CAPT Judd’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (seven awards), and various unit, campaign, and service decorations. He was the recipient of the 2011 Captain Charles J. "Chuck" Nechvatal Award.
